Manipuri Subject Code: 011 Class: IX-X (2026-27)
1. Background/ Rationale
A syllabus is a summary of the curriculum. It is a core part of the course of the study as it provides a framework for the assessment of teacher and learner achievement. It also specifies the work in course setting and it is a summary of the curriculum also.
With an objective to enable the students to acquire a reasonable degree of language proficiency in Manipuri, the framework for the assessment of teacher and learner achievement has been prepared. The course will aim, mainly at promoting the high-order language skills. By the time the students completed the high school level, i.e. Class X, they are expected to achieve the skills for text-based writing, able to write formal/informal letters and applications for different purposes, grammatical rules of Manipuri language, etc.
2. Learning objectives
The main learning objectives in this stage are:
- To improve their communication, social and handwriting skills and to make understand the meaning of Phrase and Idioms.

GUIDELINES FOR INTERNAL ASSESSMENT (PRACTICAL/PROJECTS ETC.)-Class IX
A total of 20 marks have been allotted for the Internal Assessment. Out of the 20 marks 10 is for Speaking and Listening competency and 10 is allotted for Assignments/Note-Book /Project Works. Assignments/Note-Books/Project Works are given to the concerned students as per the syllabus of the subject. On the basis of the competency, knowledge on the relevant topics, punctuality of the submission, etc. of the student, with due care and monitor, the marks are awarded.
